Event Coordinator
Colleen Jenkins

Hi all!,
I’m Colleen “CJ” Jenkins and I am the Contest Coordinator for Challenged Children’s Rodeo.
I have been working with this organization going on 10+ years now and I believe I have found my true calling in life.
In the early 80‘s, a dear friend of mine had a beautiful baby girl that was born with special needs. The journey with my friend and her little girl, Katie “Kater Bugs” was an eye opening experience for me. Back then, there were not very many programs or organizations for special children like Kater Bugs. From that point on, I have made it my personal goal to help in any way I can with special needs programs and community awareness.
For the past 10 years, I have been working as a Para-Educator in the Utah and California School Districts‘ Special Education Departments. My training has been in Autism and Behavioral “challenged” kids even though I have worked with all kinds of “Special Needs” throughout my life.
Self esteem, confidence and courage are three of life’s most important qualities and the qualities that I think our rodeo brings to our kids. Seeing the faces of the kids after they have participated in our rodeo says it all and I know my job is done.
Look forward to seeing you all at our next rodeo.
